Dalia to make Metropolitan Opera Debut in 2026-27 season

On February 19, 2026, The Metropolitan Opera announced their 2026-27 season, including the news that Dalia Stasevska will make her long-awaited company debut conducting Kevin Puts’s Pulitzer Prize–winning opera Silent Night. Following his acclaimed Met debut with The Hours, composer Kevin Puts returns with his first opera, a powerful work inspired by the true events of the 1914 Christmas truce, when soldiers laid down their arms along the Western Front and crossed enemy lines to exchange gifts and sing carols together. With a libretto in English, French, and German by Mark Campbell, Silent Night has been widely celebrated since its 2011 premiere, described by The Guardian as “an overwhelming emotive experience.” The production, staged by James Robinson, brings audiences directly to the battlefields of the First World War in an evocative and cinematic retelling of this extraordinary moment of shared humanity amid unimaginable conflict. The star-studded cast features soprano Elza van den Heever and tenors Ben Bliss and Rolando Villazón, among many others, with a libretto by mark Campbell.

Regular season tickets will go on-sale in June 2026 and additional info can be found HERE.
